Perms have come a long way: today's lotions give soft beach waves or defined curls that last three to six months, and the rod size is chosen for the curl you want. A perm takes about two hours including a cut to shape the new texture. Hair that has been bleached or heavily coloured needs a strand test first — mention it when you book.
