A barber's guide to beard shapes
Round face, long face, strong jaw: the beard line that flatters each, and what to ask your barber for.

The cheek line and the neckline decide how a beard looks far more than the length does. A neckline cut too high makes the face look rounder; one left too low disappears into the collar.
For a rounder face, ask for the sides taken shorter and more length kept at the chin — it lengthens the face. For a long face, keep more at the sides and less at the chin. For a strong jaw, a shorter, even beard with a clean line follows the shape you already have.
A Beard Trim & Shape Up at the studio sets the lines with a razor; a plain Beard Trim keeps the length between shape-ups. Most clients alternate the two every three weeks or so.
